I’m extremely fortunate to have been awarded the Creative Access Bursary sponsored by McLaren Racing.
I applied for the bursary asking for a fixed sum to purchase a printing press for the development of my personal fine art practice and to enable me to offer learning opportunities using professional equipment to my local community in future.
Creative Access support people who struggle to get a leg up in the creative industries, such as people with disabilities, Black and global majority people, people from economically unstable backgrounds, people without university education and people like me who are neuro-diverse and have chronic physical and mental health issues which affect their day to day lives and ability to work.
I purchased my printing press from small UK printmaking company Handprinted.co.uk who were amazing throughout the process and so supportive.
I’m so excited to develop new work using the press and to start to be able to offer ‘pay what you can’ 1:1 sessions exploring printmaking in my community in the not too distant future.
